Jelka van Houten to play in Fresh Meat

Dutch actress Jelka van Houten has been offered a role in the next season of the successful British comedy series Fresh Meat. The award winning series revolves around a number of students studying at the fictional Manchester Medlock University and living together in an off-campus house in Rusholme. Jelka, 34, will play a Dutch anthropology student, who moves into the shared house. The second season will be shot this summer.

Jelka's success abroad follows the success of her big sister, Carice. Carice, 35, is known for her roles in Black Book, Valkyrie and Repo Man, she currently plays Melisandre in HBO's Game of Thrones. The sisters can be seen together in the English-Dutch movie Jackie with Holly Hunter as mom Jackie.
